Denotation and Connotation

 

 

 

Denotation- means a topic or subject that you see; such as why a person is wearing a certain clothing or why a girl has a blonde hair.

Connotation- refers to the associations that are connected to a certain word or the emotional suggestions related to that word and the sign or significance behind the denotation, for example a person could be wearing a baggy shirt to hide their body and display a low confidence, where as a girl with blonde hair portrays; dumb, bimbo, slut along with other such words.
